Ernie and the Automatics are a blues rock based in Boston, Massachusetts. Guitarist Barry Goudreau and drummer Sib Hashian are both former members of the multi-platinum selling band Boston.
Brian Maes (keyboards and lead vocals) and Tim Archibald (bass) are both former members of RTZ, Peter Wolf’s House Party Five and are alumni of the Berklee College of Music. On saxophone is Michael "Tunes" Antunes. An original and current member of John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band, Antunes appeared in the movie Eddie and the Cruisers. Ernie Boch, Jr. (guitar) is a graduate of Berklee, and better known as the owner and CEO of automobile dealerships in greater Boston.
Ernie and the Automatics' debut album, “Low Expectations”, was released by Open E Records (Boch's private vanity label), in February 2009. The album debuted at #7 on Billboard’s Blues Albums chart and stayed for 6 weeks.
“Low Expectations” was Ernie and the Automatics' first original studio CD and was produced by Brian Maes, mixed by Bob St. John and mastered by Bob Ludwig.
